The Civil Wars - My Father’s Father
Performed in the California Redwoods.
You always expect them to full-on make out.
Spoiler alert: They do not.
Feist - Comfort Me (Yahoo! studio session)
If anyone is still frothing over the new album release yesterday (I sure am) here is some live in-studio of “Comfort Me”. Leslie is top notch, bluesing it up on her acoustic. Soundin’ damn good.
P.S. When the drums come in, hoe-ma-god.
Death Cab For Cutie - Stay Young, Go Dancing (Live on David Letterman)
To me, it just seems fitting. Not to get extremely introversive or anything, but it’s one of those songs that echoes innocence and simplicity, two things that we look over too much in the faster-paced world. So enjoy your Saturdays everyone, and touch grass every once in a while.

Ray Lamontagne - Henry Nearly Killed Me
Live from The Greek L.A., 9.10.11
Recorded by MYSH Music (via iPhone 4)
Why hasn’t anyone told me about his band?! I mean, I was searching far and wide today for something new and fresh, and all hope was running out. I had listened to new Mat Kearney (no)… Fruit Bats (which isn’t all that bad)… And then I found Other Lives. Come on followers, you gots to let me know when there is a jammin’ band out there that I need to post about!
It’s okay. I love you. I forgive you. Come over for brunch.
Here is Other Lives performing “For 12” on KEXP Seattle Radio.
So let’s go through this Lindi Ortega performance of Black Fly.
First of all, she’s a pretty little thing ain’t she?
Second of all, she’s got a very pretty and clean voice.
Third of all, I don’t know uhhh, she’s a guitar player.
Put it all together, and I’d say you’ve got a pretty damned good performance. I may not be the smartest cat in the alley, but I think I have this one pinned down.
ENJOY
It’s nice to see Sam Beam looking like his ol’ burly self again.
So, here’s a 4AD set featuring Iron & Wine in Miloco Recording Studios in London.
The setlist is as follows:
It’s a very intimate acoustic session, and I think you should check it out.
Warm wishes to all.
Today, I’m going to talk about a little lad I know. Somewhere deep in the marshes of southern Louisiana, there is a young man who is striving to move the masses with a voice and an acoustic guitar. If you aren’t aware of life in such a state, let me tell you, it ain’t easy. You know the saying, “Pimping ain’t easy.” Well, “Shrimping ain’t easy.” It’s about the same thing.
But I digress.
Today is devoted to promoting a little “hometown” music from your hometown. Feel free to follow along, reminisce, raise up your little nook in the middle of nowhere. We will not judge!
